About Home Fur-Ever
What We Do
Home Fur-Ever is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization formed in 1983 for the express purpose of preventing cruelty to animals. This includes picking up and caring for abandoned, neglected, and unwanted so-called “disposable” animals. We also provide educational instruction and opportunities to school children and adults in the proper care and treatment of animals.
We are an animal rescue group that relies on volunteers and donations to keep our efforts going. We rely on a network of foster families, who keep pets for adoption in their own homes while they care for existing medical issues, assess their personalities, provide socialization with humans and other animals and often provide behavioral training. Our group takes in all kinds of pets of various breeds and ages, and we concentrate on saving as many lives as possible. We provide all of our animals with proper medical care such as shots, deworming, neutering (to prevent the addition of unwanted puppies and kittens), hearworm testing and preventative medication.
Our rescue group is very careful to make sure that adoptable dogs and cats go to the right homes. We have an application and screening process for potential adopters as part of our adoption process which is designed to protect the animals, but also to make sure you end up with the right pet for your family. Since we really get to know our rescued “children”, we do our best to match you up with the perfect companion for your household and family. We will present all known medical and behavior information that we have about a pet openly and honestly. Our volunteers also follow up with you after the adoption to make sure everything’s going well. They can help you get through any rough spots by offering training tips and other advice.
All rescue groups have a few things in common. Like ours, they are made up of extremely caring, passionate volunteers who work tirelessly to save pets’ lives. Unfortunately, like us, they all spend their days cleaning up the messes of irresponsible dog and cat owners, and trying to prevent new messes by educating the public about the responsibility of dog and cat ownership and the importance of spay and neuter. We ask for your assistance in our efforts by volunteering, by donating, by fostering, and by notifying us of animals in need of rescue. Additionally, to aid us in providing quality care to rescued pets we require an adoption fee.

Very tragic for the dog and the family!
I guess my dog and I are extremely lucky as I found him at the Michigan Humane Society in Rochester Hills.
Bless you, your volunteers and all the animals that come to you.
